I have had this idea floating around in my mind for aaages. I am SO pleased to see how it transferred from the idea in my mind to reality. I think it looks great.
I’ve watched heaps of video’s online about doing inlaid diecuts, but didn’t think I had anything suitable to use, but viola! I rediscovered the Flower Fair Framelit dies.
Using watercolour cardstock, I cut all the pieces out first, then water-coloured each individual piece and dried them with my heat gun. I backed the watercolour paper with some computer paper, making sure it was covered with adhesive, then fit the pieces back into their corresponding spaces, like a jigsaw puzzle. I stamped the greeting using my stamp-a-ma-jig and my Basic Black archival ink pad. I used the stamp-a-ma-jig because I was stamping on textured watercolour paper and I wanted to make sure I had a really good stamped impression.
I then adhered the Basic Pearls all over the front, and then adhered the panel to a Sweet Sugarplum mat, before attaching that to the base card of Naturals White cardstock, so it matched better with the watercolour paper.
I love this card and am so pleased at how it turned out, I hope you like it as well.
