Welcome to the October Blog Hop with Kylie’s Crazy Crafters!
This month we had to CASE a card from Pinterest – who doesn’t LOVE Pinterest for inspiration??
If you’ve just landed on my page from Google, you may want to follow the links below to view all the great creations from the other girls. It’ll be well worth your time!!
Anyway – let’s get on with the shooowww!
I’m a Pinterest addict, with so many boards I forget which board to add cards too, and quite often with find the same card on multiple boards – so you could say I am spoilt for choice. LOL So to make just one card from my selection was impossible.
I have been following Connie Stewart for aaaages on YouTube, her flash cards are so easy to do, and that is where the inspiration came from for this card.
The card base is Whisper White. I stamped a Christmas Tree off-centre in Lost Lagoon and covered it in rhinestones, to act as ‘lights’. I then masked off the tree with a piece of printer paper, that I had punched out using the new Tree Punch; before I stamped all over the card front with the tiny tree ‘decorations’ from the Festival of Trees stamp set. Stamping in Soft Sky all over the card front at different angles to give a feeling of snow. I then put the card front through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, to add dimension to the ‘snow’.
I punched a tree from a scrap of the new All is Calm Christmas paper and then used a circle die to cut it into a circle. I also cut a tree from a scrap of Lost Lagoon, then repeated the die cut with a larger circle. Using snail to adhere these two pieces together.
Along the bottom of the card front I adhered three versions of the All is Calm washi tape, about 1/2″ from the bottom of the card.
I stamped Peace & Joy from the new Hostess Good Greetings stamp set, (which is a GORGEOUS font!!!) on Whisper White. That was in Smoky Slate. Punched it out using the Word Window punch, and then punched out some Pool Party using the Elegant Label punch, and adhered the two together.
I adhered both the tree circle and the Peace and Joy label with dimensionals and the card was complete.
Of course I couldn’t stop at just one, and since I just received the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and the Elegant Butterfly in my last order – I just had to try them out. So I was back to Pinterest a beautiful card from Wanda (you can follow the link – it’ll open in a new window).
Here is my take on it:
Whisper White card base
Elegant Butterfly Punch
I’ve been meaning to try this card for ages, but had to wait for my stamps and the punch. I still don’t have the smaller butterfly punch so had to fussy cut the smaller one out.
That was to be the end of my ‘showing off’ for this month, but it was only when I was browsing my “to Make Soon” folder on Pinterest that I discovered I had actually already CASE’d another card.
As I said it was only last night I realised I had actually CASE’d from Denita Wright, see – some images stick in the back of your mind, don’t they!?
Never one to waste a thing, I also made some larger Thank You cards with the leftover butterflies that I punch out. (I still have HEAPS left, too!)
Well that’s it from me for the weeks. Please follow the links below to see what the other Crazy Crafters have been up to this month!!!
